Master's notes: Excellent capture of this wonderful revival! Shot in a great mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups, with a focus on wides in earlier parts of the show to get all the acting choices. Some increased wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout. Audio is patched in from an external source. Some disruptive audience noises. A few brief dropouts and obstructions from latecomers, as well as obstruction on the bottom and left side of the screen that is worked around well and never obstructs significant action. Overall an excellent capture, and about as good as you'll get in that space. This video should not be listed with a month.

Master's notes: Good 4k capture of this fun show! Shot in a mix of mediums, wides, and closeups, with some more wide shots to emphasize the ensemble nature of the piece. Starts slightly after Lilli's entrance, with the first thirty seconds of video blacked out, and another blackout about 10 minutes in, when the audience was asked to stand up. Shot over the mezzanine ledge to the best of my ability, but it appears in most wide shots. Some shakiness from readjusting the frame every so often to ensure the ledge's presence was minimal, and actor's feet can be blocked off by it, but most mediums and closeups are not affected. I was sitting next to perhaps the loudest laugher in the entire world, apologies about that. Includes bows.

Master's notes: Great close up stage shot of the US premiere of this new musical. There is one prominent head always in the frame but never really obstructing any action. This show is very bright, but the video never reaches the point of washout. A few moments of blurriness in act two. Includes subtitles!

Master's notes: Solid 4K capture of this exceptional musical in its US Premiere! Even though I had great rake, a very tall man sat in front of me and obstructs about 1/5th of the stage but I work around him the best I can. Minimal action missed - I handle the obstruction better in Act 2 than in Act 1. The first 90 seconds of Act 1 and first 60 seconds of Act 2 are audio only. 1 very short blackout in Act 1, and 2 very short blackouts in Act 2. Despite the obstruction, shot in a nice mix of closeups, mediums, and wides. Moments of readjustment, washout, and focusing issues throughout. Audio fed from external source. TLDR: What makes a man try to fly in a lawn chair? B

Master's notes: Close up stageshot of a show containing three short plays themed around coming of age: The Pregame, Boys Don't Bleed, Effing It Up. Shot front row, so no obstruction, but I didn't film vertically (action that took place below chest level is out of frame) and the video skews heavily to the left side of the stage (action on the right side of the stage is also out of frame ;-;). Mostly stable save for moments of applause. Shot in 2K but edited to 1080p. The Pregrame Timestamp in Video - 00:00 Notes - Cute queer story about friendships and crushes. Set in a college dorm room. The actors sit on the floor at some point and the majority of the action during those scenes is out of frame. Boys Don't Bleed Timestamp in Video - 36:30 TW - Talk of bleeding and consuming (menstrual) blood Notes - Masc-vampire shares how they get their fix of blood. Dim video as stage lighting was only red lights. Action mostly centered, but the actor does step out of frame a few times. Effing It Up Timestamp in Video - 53:00 TW - Alcoholism, assault Notes - Young adult tries to navigate post-college life while coming to terms with her drinking problem. Action is relatively centered where possible but action on the right side of the stage is completely out of frame. Cast wasn't quite off book for this show and several of them have their scripts with them on stage. TLDR: Baby's first video!! Grade: D+

Trading notes: A semi-decent capture of this new musical produced by the 5th Avenue Theatre about grief, connection, and healing. Beautiful story, music, and performances! A fair bit of shakiness and some wandering because I cannot sit still, particularly at the start of both acts. Minimal obstruction, but a lot of wide shots and some dropouts in the first half of Act 1 because of usher activity. Notable shakiness (at ~15:00) and lack of action captured (at ~16:30) for most of one song in Act 1 because an usher was behind me and I was shooting blind. Also a very brief cut in the last scene of Act 1 when I accidentally stopped recording. I didnt always follow the action well since this was my first time seeing the show.

Master's notes: Great capture of the pre-Broadway tour of Ain't Too Proud. Both acts are missing the first min or so. Can be a bit shaky at times but overall clear video with all close ups. Also includes acknowledgements to Otis Williams, Mary Wilson, and Berry Gordy who were in the audience. 2 DVDs.

Master's notes: Phone boot from the upper balcony with no zooms, but stabilized and zoomed in post. There is a bar in the shot that I did my best to shoot around. Act 1 is noticably blurrier than Act 2, and it also has two notable blackouts: 5 minutes near the beginning, and 3 minutes near the very end. The audio is an overlaid file (that I also released on its own). A bit shaky with a LOT of washout. Overall, a really great show though! The cast was great, the singing was amazing, and the music was seamlessly interwoven with the Temptations' originals. Do not post online publicly anywhere! NFT except thru master until November 1st, 2022.

Trading notes: Really beautiful shot in an intimate space. Lots of zooms, but a good amount of wider shots too with a very limited (almost nonexistent) amount of heads. The lighting in this theater really liked my camera and I know the show almost “by heart” so I think I followed the action as well as possible. My battery died during the last song, but it starts at the very beginning with only one drop out during dialogue.

Trading notes: Brilliant capture of this show! Unobstructed aside from minor disruption in the final scenes due to people leaving early.

Master's notes: Act 1 only. Subpar stageshot of this wonderful play. There is mild head obstruction that doesn't block much action, but the main fault is the whole video is out of focus. Moments of readjustment throughout. Action is frequently uncentered, and some action is cut off outside of frame. Oh well, any video is better than no video. Act 2 audio included in folder. TLDR: Salieri didn't just kill Mozart, he killed my video too (womp womp).

Trading notes: One-night reading of Wendy Wasserstein’s 1997 play An American Daughter. The evening, directed by Oscar winner Christine Lahti, was presented by the Indigo Theatre Project for the benefit of the organization She Should Run, a nonprofit organization “working to create a culture that inspires women and girls to aspire towards public leadership.” Cuts off in the middle of Act 2, Scene 4; this is the final scene of the play, so estimating about 10-15 minutes missing of the total runtime. 2.85 GB MOV file; do not know if this is the original format/file.

Master's notes: Excellent capture of this incredibly transformative production in previews! Shot in a great mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups, wider than usual overall due to the nature of the staging. Obstruction on the bottom left of the stage that only blocks some minor action and is worked around well. Some wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout. A couple of brief dropouts. Does not include the post-bows song. Audio is patched in from an external source. Overall a wonderful capture.

Trading notes: Aired as part of PBS Great Performances on November 2, 2018. Can be found across various streaming services and on DVD/Blu-Ray. File info and quality varies across traders, latest release (on streaming) is 4K.

Trading notes: Considering the circumstances, this is a great capture of the Chicago premiere of this show. This production was staged on a runway down the middle of a large room. Audience was seated on both sides of the stage and actors were frequently in all of the aisles. As a result, actors backs are sometimes facing the camera and ensemble actors sometimes obscure the main action in a scene. Because of the layout, it was impossible to capture the entire stage/runway, so only the middle of the runway is filmed. Unfortunately Act Two was very dark so, while most of the action is there, sometimes the picture is less than stellar from the attempt to lighten the footage enough to see anything. Lastly, lots of reactions can be heard from the woman next to me (she was drunk and had several friends in the show so was super vocal). Despite the aforementioned issues, it's a pretty good video and perfectly watchable.

Master's notes: Great HD capture of the Broadway transfer. There are a few short scenes/moments far stage right blocked by a head, but nothing major. Beautiful production, performances and cast to match! A-
